Narendra Modi, while addressing the press in New Delhi, said that the recently retired Kumar Sangakkara will be missed
Prime Minister Narendra Modi mentioned Sri Lankan cricketer Kumar Sangakkara’s retirement during a joint press conference with his counterpart Ranil Wickremesinghe, who is on a three-day visit to India.
Saying that India and Sri Lanka finished an ‘absorbing’ Test series earlier this month, Modi said, “We shall all miss the great Kumar Sangakara on the cricket field.”
Sangakkara, who retired after the second Test against India at Colombo played 134 Tests for Sri Lanka.
Sangakkara finished his 16-year long Test career with 12400 runs at an incredible average of 57.40. Sanga also scored 38 hundreds which include a triple century and 52 fifties.
