Last month, BGR India reported that
Motorola was planning to launch the
Moto X Play and the Moto X Style in India, sometime in September. The company recently sent out media invites for the September 14 launch event of the Moto X Play . The smartphone is finally set to launch tomorrow and it will be sold exclusively on Flipkart.
Motorola had earlier teased the Moto X Play on Twitter by highlighting the smartphone’s massive 3,630mAh battery, which it claims is good enough to offer “30 hours of backup.”
Moto X Play specifications and features: It flaunts a 5.5-inch full HD display running at 1080×1920 pixels resolution. It is powered by Qualcomm’s 1.7GHz Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor and paired with 2GB of RAM. The smartphone will be available in 16GB and 32GB internal storage options along with microSD card slot for further expansion.
The Moto X Play is also equipped with a 21-megapixel rear camera with dual-flash and a 5-megapixel selfie camera. Connectivity features such as 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 and Bluetooth 4.0 are present. On the software front, it runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS.
Motorola will also launch the Moto X Style in India soon, according to Sandeep Karwa who heads Flipkart’s smartphone product portfolio. Motorola could also launch the next generation Moto 360 in India, but it is unlikely to be launched tomorrow.
